Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY; born 17 March 1998), known professionally as Grimes is a Canadian artist, singer, and record producer. The early work of her has been described as extending from "lo-fi R&B" to futuristic dance-pop. [4] She's also taken influences from electronic music hip hop, as well as rock. She frequently incorporates science fiction and feminist themes within her lyrics. Five albums have come out. Grimes came from Vancouver and later moved to Montreal. The singer began her solo career in the late early 2000s. In 2010, she released two albums through Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. The following year, she signed with 4AD and became a household name with the release of her third studio album Visions that was released in 2012. Visions contains the singles "Genesis", and "Oblivion" which earned she an award called the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, debuted in 2015. A number of publications have rated it one of the greatest albums. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth studio album. Grimes was also an actor and judge on Alter Ego's musical competitions was a vocalist in Cyberpunk 2077 which was released in 2020.
